Hello Jay,
You are correct with the Muddy link. During Clapton's 1979 (June
12??)
tour with McKinnley Morganfield at Chicago Stadium,
Johnny Winters came out and mixed it up with Clapton for a few songs
with Muddy as maestro. Hands down one of the best shows I've seen.
Willie Dixon also showed up and belted out a couple songs.
There was review of the show in Rolling Stone that had a picture
of Muddy & Clapton, & I believe Albert Lee.
been a long time and may have dates(s)incorrect. I still have one of
the
t-shirts from the show.
cheers,
ken m

Have Clapton and Johnny Winter ever played together anywhere? I
can't
recall anything. I thought maybe with the Muddy Waters link that
their
paths might have crossed somewhere.
Its so great to see that Johnny has lasted this long. God bless him.
I've heard that albinos have a limited life span generally speaking.
I
remember seeing him and Edgar in 1971. Can't believe I'll see him
again
in 2007.
Any talk of Mark Knopfler making an appearance ?
Cheers,
Jay
