[Slowhand] Cellphones at the Festival

I don't recall this ever being discussed.  In Dallas, my Cingular cellphone worked fine in Fair Park, but was totally dead in the nearby Cotton Bowl.  Can cellphone signals be blocked?  If so, be advised that you may not be able to contact others by cellphone.  Between acts, obviously!
