>> what guitar did EC play on the one and only Crossroads song form WOF, Winterland Ballroom on the 10th March, 1968? EC said in a recent guitar mag it was the 335 while most experts say it was the SG. Anyone? <<

Clapton also claims, in his new autobiography, that "Blues Breakers" was recorded in April 1966, which is wrong. "Beano" was recorded in March 1966. The fact is Clapton used his psychedelically-painted Gibson SG for the live recording of "Crossroads"!

This word that it was the ES-335 all began when the ES-335 was sold at auction. Guitar Center, who bouhgt the guitar, "sort of" claims that it was the ES-335. The ES-335 was played at Cream's last performance at London's Royal Albert Hall in 1968. But the live recording of "Crossroads" on "Wheels Of Fire" was, without doubt, the Gibson SG.
