J.J. Cale will release his first solo album in nearly five years on February
24 via Rounder Records. Roll On is the guitarist's first album since his
Grammy-winning, gold-certified 2006 collaboration with Eric Clapton, Road to
Escondido.

In addition to writing and producing all Roll On's tracks, Cale also plays
almost all the instruments featured on the album, including guitars, pedal
steel, bass, drums, piano and synthesizers. He tracked most of the album at
his home studio in California. Among the few exceptions is the title track
to "Roll On," a previously unreleased collaboration with Eric Clapton.
According to a statement, Cale "played most of the instruments on his
landmark first album Naturally out of financial necessity. He does so on
Roll On out of a passionate, meticulous love of the craft."

Over the years Cale's songs have been covered by the likes of Johnny Cash,
Widespread Panic, The Band, Chet Atkins, Captain Beefheart, Santana, The
Allman Brothers and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Clapton also had massive hits with both
Cale's "After Midnight" and "Cocaine."
