[Slowhand] DVD convert question

My new dvd-player, Sony dvp-sr200p is region-locked to not play pal. Apparently, too it is not hackable to over ride the lockkout according to my online research. If I copy a pal disc using nero, will it be converted to ntsc?
I just purchased from frys a copy of nero for $20 after $50 of rebates (cool, huh?), but haven't installed it as yet. Anyone know for certain? If not, I'll figure it out and post my findings.
