Do the Custom Shop Strats have birdseye maple necks? I've seen some photos
that would appear to make that the case but I've not seen one up close and
personal. I have the less expensive Artist Series...

Hi Mark, I have two of the Eric Clapton Custom Shop Clapton strats and
three of the Artist Series .
Physically there is more attention to detail, and good fit and finish
with the Custom Shop models.
Electronically, they are the same.
