[Slowhand] Off-topic: Chicago area folks, Friday night

    I know there are more than a few Chicago area folks on this 
world-wide list, and if you are looking for something to do this Friday 
night, read on.

    My friend's new band is playing their first-ever gig at The Sponge Reef 
in Schaumburg on Friday the 25th.  No cover, and, I'm told, cheap drinks. 
They are the Brass Buckle Band, with Jen Celaya and the Legs Akimbo Band 
opening.  Expect covers of mostly-country and classic rock songs you've 
heard, and some you probably haven't.  I've been loaning the lead singer 
some CDs to broaden his horizons... old school Duane Allman, Muddy Waters 
and Taj Mahal among others... so maybe that'll help.  I've no idea what 
to expect from the opening act.

    I might not make it, so if you do go, you are required to send me a 
review.  Flyer with details is attached.
