It is with regret that I post this e-mail. I just received word that longtime-subscriber Rick Batty passed away in Montreal, Canada yesterday, 7 January 2012.

Although Rick and I had some real lollapalooza arguments in these pages, he was always civil. And over the Christmas holidays, Rick and I had some GREAT, private correspondence regarding EC, in which we agreed wholeheartedly with each other. This was just a few weeks ago.

Rick, originally from the UK, also got to share his experiences regarding EC here in the US, as he lived in the San Francisco area for several years. As mentioned above, he was living in the Montreal, Canada area when he passed on.

If I've confused any facts, it's only because this is all I know and Rick and I have never actually met, except online. If anyone gains any further information, I would appreciate hearing.

May Rick Rest In Peace.
