[Slowhand] I Still Do

I'm still here.

It seems that most of the old crowd have moved over to Facebook. I don't particularly like Facebook, one of the most intrusive entities on the Internet (the other being Google), who keep changing their rules and are oh so politically correct. Let's not forget that Facebook replaced MySpace, and will itself be replaced someday. And you can avoid Google recording every breath you take by using StartPage, which keeps you anonymous and uses any search engine(s) you like (including Google).

Here are some items of interest:

- I stay in touch with "Where's Eric!" (whereseric dot com) for the latest EC news. It's not my only source of information, but one can learn of EC's latest tours, other appearances, interviews and record releases there.

- My wife and I attended the second (3 May) night of EC's "70th Anniversary Celebration" at Madison Square Garden in NY last May (we also enjoyed real pizza while there). EC's next stop was 7 nights at the Royal Albert Hall, where his latst DVD was recorded. So, it was pretty much the same show at MSG.

- Qdoba, the Mexican fast food restaurant, has changed their menu. Actitually, they've simply changed the titles of their menu items recently. One of the retitled items is called "Drunken Yardbird," a reference to EC that Beatle George Harrison initiated.

- EC's next studio album, "I Still Do," is due next month. It was recorded on 2-inch magnetic tape, an analog rather than digital recording. It's available for order on "Where's Eric!" and Amazon.

- Last month, we attended a John Mayall performance at Rams Head On Stage in Annapolis, Maryland. I had a chance to speak to Mayall as well. He is a young 82 and quite energetic on stage.

- And last month, March 2016, was the 50th anniversary of the recording of "Blues Breakers," by John Mayall With Eric Clapton.
