I've checked online and can't find George Harrison's exact quote regarding his reference to EC as a "drunken Yardbird"?
 
I know that Harrison was asked, perhaps at a press conference, about Clapton's running off with or marrying his ex-wife Patti Boyd. His response was something like, "Better a drunken Yardbird than ..."
