Hey Guy,

First, I'm glad to hear from you and hope you and Laurie and the children
are doing ok. Keep in mind that the insurance companies are using the flood
policies and offering their generousity because the payments come from the
NFIP not the company. Be aggressive about the wind damage and report to
them that your local government has reported tornado activity and 180mph
plus winds before the first inch of water was on the ground. Remember that
they need to settle these claims and let them know in no uncertain terms
that you will take the flood total and that their decision to negate any
wind damage will be noted for the litigation that you will file. Refuse to
accept a rejected homeowner's claim and file every appeal possible including
litigation if needed. Also report the claim adjuster and the company to the
insurance commissioner, promptly.
