If you are uninsured, most of this doesn't apply. My understanding is that
FEMA will only provide mitigiation funds (money to raise your house) if you
had flood insurance.

At this point, in St. Bernard at least, if you rebuild you must follow
existing code. If you can get flood insurance now, then you should be
grandfathered in should FEMA raise the required elevation levels.

If you were uninsured who determines if you are 50% or not? The house is
above sea level as it is... Just wondering if you have any reason to think
they will make the elevations a certain # of feet above sea level or simply
at sea level? Does anyone know what happened in Slidell... the 9 feet does
that take a house ???how high???
