I will echo the comments made previous regarding the pennies and I too
wonder what was in the water since I was not considered to be involved in
the oil spill down in Violet.  I had the kid's coin bucket go under water.
Gaby, what you missed is that the pennies are actually crumbling into fine
pieces of grit so there is no cleaning them with anything.  I soaked the
bucket of coins in water overnight and put them in a rag.  After rubbing
them down in the rag I opened the rag to find several of the pennies in
pieces so fine you wouldn't even be able to get a bank to believe that they
were money.
Brasso has worked decently on removing tarnish and stains from brass.
