jd,

We brought this to FEMA three months ago- we were informed that it was not a
covered expense for the parish to do it. We are hoping that the last little
taste of the mosquitos last week will help our case before April and May get
here and we are carried off by the mass of larvea that will hatch.

Good luck and God Bless,
Craig

Pools:

A diaphram/slush pump, gas driven can be used to remove the muck, however
whether you shovel or pump out the mud from the bottom you need someplace to
put it. It cannot go down our drain system. They can be rented from
equipment rental comnpanies.

With the concern of disease from mosquitoes the parish council should
determine the impact of all the filled up, dirty ground pools in the parish
and research if there is any outside source that can provide clean-up or
help to the property owners. (EPA, FEMA, State, or whomever) If these pools
remain in the condition they are in now I'm sure that the parish will surely
face a mosquitoe epidemic with the warm weather approaching and additional
expense to battle the little critters.
