Sylvia, you might be seeing the handiwork of the Rediscover District C
group. They are assisting all Kenny Henderson's district. They put a plastic
stop sign on Corinne and Genie last week and if anyone wants to join the
effort, Howard Luna reads this site and you can go to rediscoverdistrictc.
com for more info. Howard and his group can provide a contact info for a
contractor for those needing stumps ground in their subdivsion's public
areas, and NO DUMPING signs for those neighborhoods with medians who
continue to have some recent residents, developers and contractors
continuing to dump gutted material, as well as new construction debris,
boxes from furniture and appliances, etc. on the median like it's Oct 2005.
URG doesn't come by often anymore and the garbage men will pick up things
like boxes and large bags if you put it on your property. They are forbidden
from removing anything from the median. There are fines for this dumping on
medians from the parish. Look how nice Judge Perez is looking since the
Parish started fining those dumping. Please folks, BAG IT, BRING IT TO A
DUMPSTER, OR RENT A DUMPSTER. THOSE LIVING WITH MEDIANS IN FRONT THEIR
HOUSES DIDN'T INVEST IN THE PROPERTY SO TO LOOK AT YOUR TRASH PILE. And you
can't claim that it's on the median just in front of your property, because
I've picked up more than my share of other people's styrofoam, insulation,
lamp shades, and worker's lunch plates that were several homes away. To all
those who are being respectful of the neighborhood and not putting things on
the median, THANKS. And while I'm on the proverbial soap box, how long do
you think you can drive up the wrong way on Palmisano, Corinne, etc before
you kill a pedestrian or hit a car just because you don't want to double
back to your house on the right side the street? And they do this at 35 mph
and on areas with no street lights! It was necessary last year when URG was
blocking sides of the street to remove debris, but when do go back to
driving legally? Again, just ask yourself if you can do this in Metairie,
Mandeville or River Ridge. If the answer is no, then don't do it in St.
Bernard either.
