The World Trade Center is frequently asked by companies in this country and
abroad for a list of projects that are planned and under development in
connection with the rebuilding and economic recovery of south Louisiana in
the aftermath of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. These requests come from other
World Trade Centers, prospective investors, joint venture partners,
financial institutions, suppliers of building materials, contractors,
engineering firms, and other providers of goods, services, technology, and
capital seeking business opportunities in Louisiana.

The World Trade Center is therefore pleased to launch this Directory of
Louisiana Construction Projects, listing over 250 projects of all types that
are in the planning or development stage (housing, industrial, commercial,
port facilities, schools, hospitals, churches, and more) totaling many
billions of dollars of prospective investments. In addition, there are
hundreds of additional projects linked to the websites for:

* U.S. Army Corps of Engineers
<http://www.mvn.usace.army.mil/pd/projectsList/> (including CWPRA
projects);

* Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development
<http://www.dotd.la.gov/construction/> (roads and bridges);

* New Orleans Office of Recovery Management
<http://nolarecovery.com/taplans.html> (17 target development areas in the
City of New Orleans); and

* Louisiana Economic Development Board of Commerce & Industry
<http://www.led.louisiana.gov/come-to-louisiana/business-resources/board-of-
commerce--industry.aspx> (approved projects).

This initial version of the Projects Directory is only a start at compiling
a statewide list of projects. We recognize there are many projects not
included in this version because we were not aware of them or due to
incomplete data. Also, some of the information contained in the directory
may need updating; we will gladly revise those entries if the project
developers send us their revisions. The directory will be updated weekly. To
add or revise a listing at no charge, please click here

529-1601 ext. 262 or e-mail 1ststop at wtcno.org.

Note for Excel Users
Follow these steps to alphabetize the Directory by field 1. Select all
columns 2. From the menu bar click "Data" and "Sort"
3. Sort by desired column
(sorting by column without first selecting all columns will sort only that
column independently of the other data)

Finally, the WTC and its First Stop for International Business Services
office wish to thank Louisiana Economic Development
<http://www.lded.state.la.us/> for its support of this initiative, and
special thanks to the more than 20 university student interns who
volunteered their time and energy over the past three months to meticulously
compile the information in this directory. Without their dedicated efforts,
it could not have been done.
