One arrested, one sought for questioning in Chalmette playground arson

A 14-year-old boy has been booked in connection with the New Year's Day
torching of the community playground in Chalmette. A 27-year-old man is
being sought for questioning, the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff's Office said.

The juvenile has not been identified. He was booked with simple arson. The
adult was identified in a Sheriff' Office news release as Jude Nunez.

Nunez lives in one of the trailers set up at Torres Park in the wake of
Hurricane Katrina, the Sheriff's Office said. The Sheriff's Office news
release indicated that two other juveniles who lived at the trailer park
also are being questioned in connection with the arson. 

The playground at Torres Park had been built by community volunteers.
