Mandeville man arrested in St. Bernard on attempted murder charges

Chalmette -- A Mandeville man has been charged with attempted murder in St.
Bernard Parish after allegedly firing a shot at a man after having a
disagreement over a woman. 

Police say 23-year-old Richard Laggarigue of 186 Trace Loop in Mandeville
turned himself in to the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff's Office on Tuesday,
April 28, after apparently learning that a judge issued a warrant for his
arrest.  


St. Bernard Sheriff's Office officials indicate that Laggarigue allegedly
got into a disagreement with a man over a woman at a Chalmette bar back on
Dec. 30, 2007.  


Authorities indicate that Larrarigue fired one shot at the victim, who was
standing in the doorway of the bar.  Deputies indicate that the shot missed
and struck a stuffed animal behind the bar counter. 


No one was injured in the shooting incident.
