New Rebuilding Assistance Resources


Project Homecoming is accepting applications from homeowners living in
Orleans and St. Bernard parishes who need rebuilding assistance and have the
ability to purchase their own rebuilding materials. 

Rebuilding Together is accepting applications from low income elderly or
disabled homeowners and first responders in Holy Cross, Broadmoor,
Tremé/Esplanade Ridge, St. Roch, and Hollygrove who need assistance
completing rebuilding work.

The Institute of Community Development (ICD) has funds to help homeowners in
Treme' rent storage space while rebuilding. Find out more information here

Road Home Reps at the Rebuilding Information Station


Representatives of the Road Home program are available for consultation with
homeowners at the Rebuilding Information Station (RIS) office on the
Lakefront between the hours of 9 am and 1 pm on Fridays. Find more

Earned Income Tax Credit Information


The Earned Income Tax Credit is the federal government's largest program
benefiting lower earning workers. The IRS estimates that 20 to 25 percent of
eligible taxpayers fail to claim the credit which could put as much as
$4,824 into the pockets of a family with two children, or send as much as
$2,917 to a family with one child, or up to $438 for a worker with no
children. Free help is available to determine eligibility and file to claim
the credit.
