Ask anyone affiliated with a political campaign and they'll tell you all they are really concerned about is knowing where their opponent's money is coming from - from who and from what organizations. They could really care less how the money is spent. I'm a picky as anyone when it comes to campaign reporting, but not entirely breaking down your expenses is pure nonsense when you do have the receipts showing everything itemized. For someone from the Jindal campaign to bring this to the attention of the State Ethics Board just goes to prove they were digging for something juicy to sink their teeth into and all they could find was a tiny piece of bone which no one really cared about. In the end, I think this proves Walter to be a person of honor. BERNARD PARISH PRESIDENT CALLS FOR A LIMITED VOLUNTARY EVACUATION St. Bernard Parish President, Craig P. Taffaro, Jr., has called for a Voluntary Evacuation of areas of St. Bernard Parish that are located outside of the Hurricane Protection Levee System. The Voluntary Evacuation will begin at 6am on Monday November 9, 2009. The start of the voluntary evacuation will be followed by an immediate increase of patrols by the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff's Office within the evacuation area. All boat and trailer owners are asked to secure their property. All St. Bernard Parish Government employees are expected to report for their regular work schedule tomorrow, Monday, November 9, 2009. President Taffaro has also called for all St. Bernard residents to follow their personal hurricane preparedness plan. He has stated that he expects no flooding within the Hurricane Protection Levee System, but he added that residents should be prepared for potential wind related damage which could include power outages. Residents should secure all loose personal property around their homes. The following items should be included in any preparation for a storm event, but this is not an all inclusive list. Water, Non-Perishable Food, Medicines, First aid kit, Batteries, Radio, Telephone, Important documents, Fuel for vehicles and/or generators. Caution should be used in any instances of downed power lines. Tune to the local media for information. Also, St. Bernard Parish Government will be issuing updates on its website at www.sbpg.net, on its cable access station at channel 76 for Cox Communications customers and on its emergency communications radio station at 1680-AM. ###
