Louisiana State Park Swimming Pools Opening For Memorial Day Weekend

St. Bernard State Park in Braithwaite to open as well; regular hours will be
Tuesdays through Sundays 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

 

 BATON ROUGE, LA - The Office of State Parks will open swimming pools for
the Memorial Day Weekend and the summer season on Saturday, May 29. Pools
will remain open through Monday, May 31, for the holiday then close on
Tuesday for maintenance and resume regular schedules through the summer.

 

State Parks with swimming pools available for day-use include: Chemin-A-Haut
in Bastrop; Chicot in Ville Platte; Lake Bistineau in Doyline; Lake
D'Arbonne in Farmerville; and North Toledo Bend in Zwolle. Bayou Segnette
State Park in Westwego offers a wave pool. All sites provide certified
lifeguard supervision for swimmers in park pools. 

 


>From August 1 through Labor Day, pools at State Parks will be open on

modified schedules. Visitors are advised to check with the individual parks
for specific days and hours of operation. All pool schedules are subject to
change. Pool hours of operation, fees charged and pool schedule exceptions
at each State Park are as follows:

 

St. Bernard State Park - 501 Saint Bernard Parkway, Braithwaite, LA 

Pool Open: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday, $ 2/person  pool fee 

 

Bayou Segnette State Park - 7777 Westbank Expressway, Westwego, LA 

Wave Pool Open: 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday, $8/adult,
$6/child (under 4 ft.) 

 

Chemin-A-Haut State Park - 14656 State Park Road, Bastrop, LA

Pool Open: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday, $1/person day-use fee 

 

Chicot State Park - 3469 Chicot Park Road. Ville Platte, LA

Pool Open: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday, $1/person day-use fee.


 

Lake Bistineau State Park - La. Hwy. 163, Doyline, LA

Pool Open: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday, $1/person day-use fee 

 

Lake D'Arbonne State Park - La. Hwy. 2, Farmerville, LA

Pool Open: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday, $1/person day-use fee 

 

North Toledo Bend State Park - La. Hwy. 3229, Zwolle, LA

Pool Open: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday, $1/person day-use fee 

 

Day-use swimming pools at State Parks will operate six days per week through
the beginning of August when a revised schedule will be announced. All pools
will be closed one day each week for maintenance. During all operational
weeks when there is no national holiday scheduled on a Monday, the pools
will be closed on Mondays for maintenance. When pools are open on a holiday
Monday, the pools will be closed for maintenance on the Tuesday following
the holiday Monday.

 

State Parks with designated beach swimming areas include Cypremort Point SP,
east of Franklin; Jimmie Davis SP in Chatham; Fontainebleau SP in
Mandeville; Grand Isle SP on Grand Isle; Lake Bistineau SP near Doyline;
Lake Bruin SP in St. Joseph; Lake Claiborne SP in Homer; Poverty Point
Reservoir SP in Delhi; and South Toledo Bend SP near Anacoco. All beach
areas are open daily, but do not have lifeguard supervision. Standard
day-use admission of $1 per person provides beach access.

 

Tickfaw SP in Springfield, Lake Bruin SP in St. Joseph, Lake Fausse Pointe
SP in St. Martinville and Poverty Point Reservoir SP in Delhi have water
playground facilities for children. The playgrounds are open daily from 8
a.m. to 8 p.m., and available to overnight and day-use visitors.
