Geez, glad I stood out of the fracas about an upcoming election, because I
no longer know candidates who have swam to the surface of St. Bernard
politics. However, I'm pretty familiar with political science and know how
St. Bernard theatrical politics can be different or similar to other area
politics. And, POLITICS *are* politics everywhere and have been since
Socrates and Aristotle.
Comparing this list to NOLA has its similarities and differences as well.
One thing I've be keenly aware of as well is "begging to differ" instances
where everyone has an opinion and therefore will carry the sword to the
Mr. Landry and other politicians as well. If I were running for an elected
office, one thing I'd do is not bow out ungraciously in any blog, list or
venue of discussions. It tends to show incompetence and distain, weakness
and ineptness -- even before being elected, so many votes are lost in the
blogging area, then carried forward by word of mouth with additional
So, bowing can mean respect ( positive gesture - ie. China/Japan/etc.) while
it can also mean incapable and to some, yes, cowardness). So, in essence,
it depends upon point of view, and believe me - point of view is an opinion
people encompass as part of their observation about a candidate.
The populace will vote as a means to get their candidate elected. One's
character, ethics, competence, and strength will determine the length of
time people support that candidate. As a reminder, this list and its
blogging is open to anything that affects St. Bernard, the state of
Louisiana and their place in the USA. This is what gives Westley's St.
Bernard News its strength--the ability to sign off in a free land, even for
Mr. Landy and other candidates if they so please to participate.

As you requested, you have been removed from the list (at the bottom of
every email is instruction on how to remove yourself).
Still, should you decide to rejoin the list, it only means that you will
continue to receive postings via email. It does not mean that you must
reply to any or every comment posted where you are the subject matter, nor
does your removal mean others will stop posting about you. If I were a
candidate for public office, I would want to know every possible source
where people could be talking about me and what they are saying. But if you
have supporters who remain on the list, I'm sure they can forward to your
anything that is said - as well as defend you.
Westley, please remove me from your list. This site is a disappointment to
me. I thought it would be better than NOLA, but it is obviously the same.
