[Webpro] Introduction

Thought I'd introduce myself. May be a way to get things moving.

I'm in Northern NJ. I've been designing web pages since 1995. Until this
past August, I was working for a wine importer - winebow.com - and I was
basically a 1 person web design team. I did everything that needed to be
done with the site - design, layout, graphics, coding, Flash - but develop
the database.

The company eliminated my position in August due to financial reasons, so
I've been looking for another full time gig. In the mean time I did a
freelance project for an artist - http://www.symmetricalproductions.com/
(She wanted the Flash intro - and I couldn't talk her out of it <g>). I'm
still working on polishing it up a bit.

I may be doing an e-commerce site (my first) for her brother, but I'm still
working on getting a full time job. I'm not good at sales, so I don't
think I can manage just doing freelance.

I usually score in the center of right brain/left brain tests so I can
handle both the creative and the technical aspects of web design. Because
of that I'm a bit of a "Jill of all trades," but not really an expert at
either - although I can hand-code valid HTML and CSS.

My personal site - www.cyber-kat.com is almost completely done using CSS
positioning (though I'm still cleaning up the CSS - it's a bit messy even
though it validates <g>). Nearly all of the graphics (such as they are <g>
- are original).

I learned quite a bit of ASP when I was working at Winebow - I did all the
templates in the dynamic Italian wine section. My personal site is hosted
(fantastic web host, BTW) in a LAMP environment. so I'm currently trying to
learn PHP and MySQL.
