Digest subscriber here, just received the first one. Looks like I'm in good
company. Some interesting folks, and interesting sites! Here's hopin' we can
develop an interesting community.

I am Rick, and webdesign was thrust upon me in the late 20th century
following a downsizing at a major VAR of network-attached storage devices.
Those that made the decisions decided that writing software and writing
webpages were similar enough to merge add'l tasks into my job description.
Almost goes without saying that a corresponding increase in pay was *not*
one of those decisions.

Humble beginnings aside, I currently design and host 'brochure' type sites
for local small-business sites. Great fun usually, I like my clients, and my
work supports my modest lifestyle.

Superpowers include: table-less CSS design, php, a half-dozen (software)
development languages, etc. I'm a staunch advocate of *minimalist design*
and a crusader in the fight against the evil forces of Flash, PDF, WYSIWYG
editors, and HTML email.

If I've failed to offend everyone on the list yet, just give me time. <g>
