Well again, standing in the center of that whole right brain/left brain 
scale, I do both.  The trouble is I'm not as good as I'd like to be at 
either.  I'm pulled in both directions, but I can't seem to find the time 
to get deeply enough into one or the other to fully develop it.

I find that I can learn the technical aspects with a book and a bit of 
time, but I really wish I had the time to take design classes.  I get the 
Pratt Institute catalog all the time and drool over the offerings..

I think anyone who is too far to one side or the other of the rb/lb scale 
would have a difficult time mastering the other side, but I still think 
it's possible.  I do think the technical aspects are probably more easily 
learned than the design aspects.  You can learn the principles and the 
techniques, but the rest comes from raw talent and you either have it or 
you don't. JMO
