Well again, standing in the center of that whole right brain/left brain
scale, I do both. The trouble is I'm not as good as I'd like to be at
either. I'm pulled in both directions, but I can't seem to find the time
to get deeply enough into one or the other to fully develop it.
I find that I can learn the technical aspects with a book and a bit of
time, but I really wish I had the time to take design classes. I get the
Pratt Institute catalog all the time and drool over the offerings..
I think anyone who is too far to one side or the other of the rb/lb scale
would have a difficult time mastering the other side, but I still think
it's possible. I do think the technical aspects are probably more easily
learned than the design aspects. You can learn the principles and the
techniques, but the rest comes from raw talent and you either have it or
you don't. JMO
