[Webpro] Flash in web and html mail

Good day, folks.
Some of you look familiar from other lists. For those who're not familiar
with me, here's a bit of an intro before I get to the question I have. I'm
a web developer living and working in Dublin, Ireland. I taught myself most
of what I know, bootstrapping up from a glorified summer job some six years
ago. At the moment, I'm working with Cold Fusion on Windows, although I've
dealt with Perl, PHP, Tcl, and a few other odds and ends in the past,
mostly on unix and linux. I've been doing a bit in XML and XSL too, lately.
Non-web-dev interests include such things as medieval combat (SCA),
tabletop rpgs, geology, geography, virtual community, cooking, and
pontificating. I'm married to a Finnish girl, and we spend a couple of
weeks each year in her homeplace. Despite this, I don't speak Finnish
(well, not much), but have Irish and French when I need them.
That question: how do people feel about flash these days, where people
aren't web developers, but the public? And how do they react to it in their
mail? Does it work at all, now that html mailers are being more and more
filtered and ignored? I've no investment in flash myself, but our Marketing
folks here have heard it's a good medium.
Cheers,
Drew.
