Among plug-ins, Flash is very accepted by JQ Public in
the US and Europe. It works seamlessly with major
browsers, is truly cross platform, the files are
relatively small. Downloads of the applications are
free and easy, and they don't contain spyware or
tracking applets.

The Macromedia site has lots of information about
Flash & Shockwave.

With increasing frequency, I've found that people
react badly to anything that isn't plain text in
e-mail. People on dial up connections get their pipes
clogged, mailboxes get bloated, and worst of all -
attachments are associated with viruses.

It's a great medium, but not for e-mail. You might
want to have a plain text message sent that has a link
to a Flash file instead. This way you'll get a handle
on whether your audience is willing to click on it.

I've also got an intro in order - I'm a lifelong
resident of New York City (except for a stint in
London many years ago), with a background of many
years in national magazine magazine marketing and
advertising. About 7 years ago I segued to web
marketing and design and began working with ad
agencies and media companies as an executive recruiter
for online creative and strategic talent, and
freelancing in marketing and design. Since 9/11, I've
been freelancing full time.
