Figured it out
When i tried to log in to the new site I was trying to use the same information that I had used for Topica.
It did not work. What I had to do was type in the user name (email addy that I had used on Topica {guess you automatically added me to the new list and I appreciate that} and then scroll down and request they send me my password). Once I got the password I was able to log in and set the password to something I could remember.

but you are still welcome to link to my Yahoo group if you like and I will make you moderator. I can give you full moderator power for everything excep for deleting the group from yahoo. 
Check it out and the chat room is nice since no one will be there except for members of the group. Right now the group is set up for anyone to join with out aproval but that can be changed to having to be approved.
