Try the Cherokee Museum.  They may be able to give you some information and//or point you to a publication that will help.

Also, if my calculations are correct, your grandmother being half Cherokee would make your mother 1/4 Cherokee assuming a non-Cherokee father which would then make you 1/8 Cherokee again assuming a non-Cherokee father. Again, if my memory serves me correctly, 1/8 Cherokee ancestry qualifies you for enrollment into the Eastern Band of the Cherokees.
