[Woodcarver] New Carver Advice

Mike & Patty,

The swiss-made tools (Pfeil) have 3 issues that make them a less attractive
choice than the Stubai:

1. They are known to be brittle and prone to tip breakage
2. Woodcraft has the only distributorship in the US, and has monopolistic
control over the pricing
3. Pfeil tools can be in very short supply.

It is my understanding that the Pfeil tools are also made by hand one by one
in Switzerland, but they have problems getting people who want to work. I
know I tried to buy their 8 peice palm set once, and no one had a complete
set available.

Good Luck & Good Carving
Daniel Heine
