I am not being smart but really was thinking they are a lot cheaper.

I'm getting close to getting mine & I too will be mostly getting for relief

carving..

Very interested in your thoughts.

It disturbs me to see some of the nagative remarks about the major tool
makers. Most of these manufacturers have been in business for generations and
have earned an excellent reputation. In many instances what is the best tools
to buy is all a matter of personal taste. What works for one carver, may not
work for another. If you are happy with one brand stay with it. How we use
the tools, how they look and feel, are all factors to be considered.
Yes, every tool maker has an occasional problem, but don't condem the
entire line bacause of it. Most manufacturers are more than ready to replace or
refund your money if you are not satisfied.
Over the years I have collected antique tools, buying entire tool boxes
when possible. One thing I have noticed, the old time woodcarver had a wide
variety of brand name tools. Never have I found a tool box that only contained
one brand of tool. The old timers shopped around and we should be doing the
same.
    My two cents worth. Rip
