Doug,

A macaroni tool is shaped about like this  [___] (without the little hooks on top, straight edges). The one I use is about mid-size so it is easy to use as a one hand tool, choked up for control, or with a mallet. Long bevel on cutting edges.

Got it cheap at an estate sale, so it is sweeter yet. It is a great "show off" tool. Old Joe
