If you call or fax The Hardwood Connection (815-895-8733) Sycamore Illinois,
they can help you out. They'll give you a price and mail it directly to you.
I suggest that for the size you are talking about to have it glued from
several pieces. Basswood or butternut works great for relief carving. They
also have my favorate, blackwalnut. They are very good at suggesting sizes
and construction techniques for good stability and to hold the price down.
