Steve,

1. Who taught you to carve, if you were taught by someone else? - I 
joined the Yorkarvers Wood Carving club in Pennsylvania and quickly 
found many carvers willing to help and to give 1 to 2 hour seminars on 
various topics.

2. How many of you are "self taught" (which could include using 
books,etc.)? - I took an adult education course for 6 weeks, 1 night a 
week.  I was taught how not to cut myself (so much).

3. How many of you started carving "late in life" (use your own 
discretion)? - I started as a boy scout and continued thru college.
