Hi Clive,

Probably the easiest method would be to make a small cradle (2x4's or
whatever you have at hand) like a saw horse to hold the log for carving.
Maybe incorporate an easy clamp system with "f" champs to the cradle.  I
usually screw a straight board (2x4) to a log to give me a straight edge for
bandsawing logs.  Maybe that approach would be usuable.

those that didn't catch the exchange earlier, Clive and I made a trade for
his carving and a couple of my mallets.  I also posted some new pictures of
