[Woodcarver] Where in the world is Rick Jensen?

Hi Sally, et al,

Talked with Rick (at length :o) this morning. The National Bark Carvers
Association was formed last summer out at John Burke's Western Wildlife
Workshop. A bunch of carvers got together and thought it would be a good
idea for people who like to carve bark to share ideas, tell stories, etc.
They even elected a President ... Marshal Artime.

But in Rick's words, "we don't have any movers or shakers to really do
anything to get it off the ground". From what I gather, everyone had too
many commitments already to take on another one. Rick said when they get
together again this summer, they're going to see if anything can get going.
He said he'll let me know of any progress being done, and I , in turn,
will inform you folks.

I'm sure if anyone out there would like to get the ball rolling that Rick
and Marshal would be glad to entertain any notion that might be offered.
Drop me a line off-list and I'll pass it on.

Oh, you are a sweetheart!!! Thank you so much for coming to the
rescue. Looks as if the Bark Carvers Association might get a few new
members.

Rick's new book is really nice. It's a refreshing read and the photo's
are very well done. He does a nice explanation of the various kinds of
cottonwood trees. I didn't know there were so many.

You're fortunate to have the prized whimsical house in your possession.
  That's great!

Thanks for finding out whatever it is you will find out. ;-)

Hi Sally and Alex, et al,

I'll give Rick a call and find out about the Bark Carvers Association.
The
trouble is .... once you get him on the phone, it's hard to get him
off!!!
  (hope he's not listening) LOL!

The piece he did, step-by-step, in his new book is hanging behind our
counter in the shop. It was payment for letting him carve and do the
photo
shoot in our seminar room last summer. I was extremely pleased when he
gave it to me! Really cool piece! :o)
