Joe,

There are a couple of things you can do to find out more. Susan
mentioned that
you should just ask us. How right she is, we have answered the same
questions
many times for new carvers and are happy to help everyone out.

Secondly, go to Susan's website that I have left the link to below.
Susan is a
bit shy and retiring about promoting herself, but this gal has a
terrific
website with some free patterns, patterns for sale, carving help and
tutorials
about all sorts of carving projects to try. She is also the author of a
couple
of excellent books. If you can't find what you need at her website, I
would be
very surprised. In nearly 6 years of being on the list, she is one of
the nicest
folks you will ever want to talk to and deal with.

Next, go to http://carverscompanion.com/ and click on the resource file.
This
has all sorts of tips and ideas and help for new carvers. Matt and
others spent
a lot of time putting this together to be a great one-stop resource for
all of us.

After visiting the resource files, check out the Ezine on the same
website!
Between the current and back issues, you will have a few days worth of
reading
ahead of you!

Good luck, welcome to woodcarving, and don't be shy about speaking up!
