Hi Dan;
Mort Lake knives are "The Woodbutchers" bailiwick, I know Mort and have a
number of knives he made for me, all made from old straight razors.
I don't think Mort is making knives of any quantity now, hence "The
Woodbutcher" handles Denny knives , and even has a Denny named after him
designed to his taste.
"The Woodbutcher's" knife is a "Big Un" so to speak, but boy has it come in
very handy to me, big handle, big blade and for someone like me who have
large hands and is losing feeling in his right hand it's easy to grasp and
the big blade allows me to still hog off large chunks.
I still love my Mort Lake knives but Denny knives have become a big
favorite as well, so under the circumstances of supply I would vote for a
Denny knife bearing in mind I have never had the opportunity to try a Ron
Wells knife which comes highly recommended as you have heard here on the list.
"The Woodbutcher's " (Jan Oegema) web site is listed below.
BTW Jan comes from Bowmanville, Ontario, Canada , which is an hours drive
east of Toronto downtown.
