[Woodcarver] copy rights question

 I have been ask to carve the bust of "Gandalf" from the Lord of The Rings. I 
know this has been discussed before but what are the legal issues. I have 
also a relief carving to do of "The Creation" by Michelangelo the legal issue is 
different on this true? Thanks for any help
