Hello,
I am hardly an attorney, but I do have an opinion. Gandalf is a fictional
character created by J.R.R. Tolkein. I think the only way you can properly
create his bust, is the read the Trilogy, and carve the image created in
your mind. The Gandalf in the recent movies is good, but certainly not my
own vision of Gandalf. I can see no legal issua whatsovere with carving an
image formed in your own imagination. However, if you make a duplicate of
the Gandalf chanracter in the movie, then it may be a very seperate legal
situation, and may be a problem.
Thanks,
Daniel Heine
