Japan drier is a liquid added to oil paints and linseed oil to make it dry more
quickly. A little bit goes a long way, although I believe it is a heavy metal
of some sort and not environmentally friendly if misused. (EG, not safe for
food use, etc.)
Boiled linseed oil is pre-mixed and drys in a couple of days time when it is
brushed on and then the excess wiped off a few minutes later.
