[Woodcarver] Gentle subscribers.... Send PLAIN TEXT messages ONLY, please!!

Gentle Subscribers :-)

It is clear that a number of members of our List are having problems 
with "attachments", those pesky little things that come "attached" to 
email messages, which may or may not be VIRUSES... who can tell!!!... 
but which make it hard, for a variety of reasons, for our subscribers 
to receive/read/process messages from our List community.

YOU may be one of the subscribers who is SENDING messages to the List 
with those pesky "attachments" attached IF you are sending messages 
with little "emoticons" or "animated images" or "colored backgrounds" 
or "formatted" (colored/bold/fancy typeface) text. All of these things 
will arrive "attached" to messages for many of our list subscribers, 
depending on their ISP and the personal email applications they are 
using.

I want to make a general request of ALL LIST SUBSCRIBERS to adjust 
their email settings so that ONLY PLAIN TEXT MESSAGES are being sent to 
the Woodcarver Mailing List. Check the settings/preferences for your 
email application and be SURE that you are not sending messages 
formatted with HTML. Just "plain text", please. Nothing more. You can 
tell if you are sending messages in anything else but "plain text" if, 
when your message appears on the List, you see any of the 
above-mentioned items.

Plain text is BORING!!! It is, well,... PLAIN!!!
I don't like the looks of plain text, personally.
But even I, your List Owner, am guilty of sending it to the List on 
occasion (mea culpa).
IF your messages to the List look BORING, then you are likely sending 
them as "plain text" and everyone will thank you for it.

Let's get together on this, please. Consider it a New Years Day 
resolution that you can actually KEEP <grin>
