Hi Phyllis and Ed,

I don't know quite how to take what you said Ed ...... are you really in 
trouble????

I surely hope not.  Let's clear up something from the "get-go".  I plead 
innocent!!!!  I was not the one who talked with you Phyllis.  My son, 
Chris, (lil' Big Dog) joined our crew this fall.  In his exuberance to 
please our clientele to the fullest, he may have exaggerated Ed's past 
history and credit-worthiness here at The Woodcraft Shop.

The order you placed for his Christmas present was the first time we 
received an order from you folks.  Honest!  Ed is completely innocent of 
any subterfuge or wrongdoing.  Please forgive him and let him come out to 
play!

Thanks so very much and may the New Year bring Ed in from the doghouse. :o)

Oh, BTW Ed, honesty IS the best policy.  So is carving something really 
nice for Phyllis.
