If you're using them for ornaments and such you might want to consider
using eye pins instead. They are smaller and ornament hangers work great
with them. Since they are straight without threads you have to install a
little differently than screw eyes. I drill a hole slightly smaller than
the diameter of the pin and not quite as deep as the pin is long. ( I cut
the pin to the length I want). Then place a couple drops of super glue in
the hole. Press the eye pin into the hole. ( I use a pair of small needle
nose pliers for this). After the eye pin is seated I put a small drop of
super glue around the pin at the hole.

You can do a "website search" on eye pin. You should get 3 hits.
