Hi Wayne,
OK, I just pulled it out of the package and it is the Flexcut Slipstrop, and has a piece of leather glued to one edge, rough side out, and various convex and concave shapes in the wood to aid in stropping the various blades, gouges, scorps etc. Not sure if my friend bought it separately or if it came as a package with the knife, but it sure looks useful, not only for the knife but my other tools as well. The compound is the Gold honing wax type stick.
You can get the same type of jig by using a tool to carve its profile in a piece of wood and then applying honeing compound to the blade shaped cut and rubbing the tool back and fro on it.
Just looked at the front of the instruction pamphlet,,,,,,, (duhhhh) and it came as a package with the knife,,, -- "Flexcut Slipstrop, Flexcut Gold polishing compound and complete instructions for maintaining the sharpest edge possible." Guess I should have looked there first eh ??
Take care,
Clive.

You mentioned something about a Honing Jig. Would love to hear more about the jig and where to purchase 1.
