[Woodcarver] Question about tracing paper

I have a question about using tracing paper. I just bought some and thought I would try it. I have never used it. I have cut out patterns and and then traced around them on the wood and I have used carbon to transfer patterns. I have followed several discussions about using tracing paper. I thopught the instructions would be on the pack but they are not. Would someone please tell me how to use the tracing paper??????
