they are from the Mt tribe & they do use them  shot gun type 
but I couldn't shot them the metal is to cheap

  Small world..I spent 1972-73 in Laos and have 2 rifles and 2 pistols I bought in the jungles..probably same salesman..

  ..I did not carve when I was in that area but did purchase several Carvings..Buda..and a couple Chinese wisemen  not sure of the wood..

  Chaing Mai is one of the beautiful places in the world..at that time many furniture makers  mostly teak..

      I HAVE DEVELOPED A INTEREST IN ASIAN CARVINGS.  IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING THAT THE NORTHERN REGION OF THAILAND, IN THE AREA OF CHAING MAI, IS THE CENTER FOR ASIAN CARVINGS.  I AM INTERESTED IN TRYING TO DEVELOP CONTACTS OVER THERE VIA E- MAIL, THAT I MIGHT BE ABLE TO STUDY AND CARVE WITH WHEN I VISIT.  


      DO ANY OF YOU KNOW ANY INDIVIDUALS THAT I MIGHT CONTACT OR SUGGESTIONS ABOUT THAT AREA?
