[Woodcarver] Finishing Question

I use Bartley's Gel varnish, highlight with oil paint
and let it dry 48 hours. 
I rub the carving down with a brown paper bag to
smooth the surface (gets rid of the dust that
settled). I then spray it with Deft Satin lacquer and
it works great.
