Hi all,
Sam was right. My Sunset gardening book identifies the
Bradford pear as one variety of what my neighbor said
was an "ornamental pear" he cut down. At the risk of
it winding up in the green waste pile,I'm going to
carve this green wood with my Arbortech to shape a
standing hare sculpture, then carve the details with
my gouges. I've received my gallon of Pentacryl and
will paint it on the surfaces after each carving
session in the hope it will prevent checks and splits.
Question: since I've not carved green wood before,
what do I use to clean my tools with after they get
gummed up with green wood goop?
Jean
