[Woodcarver] Introduction

[Michael Conway]

Well I am finally driven by the need to introduce myself.  My name is Michael Conway, a name that one day I hope will carry a reputation as fine as some of those on this list.  Until I had joined several lists I had not realized how close some very experienced, and fine craftsmen(women) were.  I have to say I have reached the extent of my inexpensive tools capacity, and am hoping that with 2004, I can finally get a set of real carving chizels, not a set from a craft store (Michaels/Ben Franklin's).  I have much time to develop my skill (being on disability for a heart condition), but due to my being on disability the funds for the purchase of better toold are just not there.  I am moving to the town my wife comes from (transplanted) Hohenwald, Tennessee.  her Dad has a full cabinetmakers woodshop...  I feel like I have been let into the promised land.  I was hoping to open a Handcrafted/Handmade Country Gifts "Shoppe" with my wife in Fletcher, N.C. but with her Mom ill and her Dad
 headded into surgery soon, someone has to look after her mothers cleaning business...  so off we are to be the dutiful children.
